Drawing annotations into an image

iPath offers a very convenient option to draw annotations or comments directly into an image. This is done with the help of a small java applet that provides a very easy to use drawing function.

The drawing function is not enable in all groups by default. If you want to use it in your own group, please let us know.

If the drawing function is enable you will see a little paint brush icon (named "drawing") when you are looking at a single image (not on the whole case). Click this icon to start the drawing applet.

Loading the applet may take a few seconds. When you load the applet the first time in encrypted mode, your java engine might ask if you trust the SSL certificate. You must click "trust" or "accept" to activate the applet!

Finally, you can draw an annotation into the image. on the right side you have a selection of colors and drawing functions like arrows, straight lines or the "free line" tool. Below the drawing you can also enter a comment on your drawing.

Please note that the applet is designed for extreme simplicity. You cannot edit items that have already been drawn. The only option is the "undo" button which will remove the last item from the drawing.

When you are finished, click the save button to save the drawing. It will be added as a new object in the case gallery and it will not overwrite the original image.
